Safe Installation & Opening

Safe Installation and Opening

In today’s unpredictable world of crime and environmental disasters, owning a safe to protect your valuables is a practical thing to consider. Whether you’re a business or a homeowner, most people own a safe in order to protect valuable possessions like money, jewellery and electronics.

Safes come in many different sizes, models and levels of protection. First, consider the size of the safe you need and what things you want to keep inside. You may need just enough space for important documents, money and jewellery. Or if you need to keep bigger items you might want to consider a security filing cabinet.

We stock a variety of safes, offer professional advice and have skilled staff for all safe services including, installation, openings and repairs, and we stock trusted brands; CMI, Chubb and Yale safes.

Prices vary on quality, size and protection.

Types of safes we stock

Servicing your safe

Safe servicing is something that is often overlooked and once its installed people tend to forget about it and think it doesn’t require any service at all. This is not the case! Just think about the precision mechanism inside that allows the safe to be locked and unlocked on a daily basis.

Sometimes a safe will give warnings much like a fire alarm, subtle warnings that it is not working properly, and other times there will be no warning at all. Bang! You’re locked out!

Depending on the frequency of its use, a safe should be serviced every 12 months.

Servicing includes:

  • Completely disassemble the combination lock
  • Clean, adjust, and examine all parts
  • Lubricate parts
  • Check any security re-locker bolts, adjust if necessary
  • Check locking bolts for free movement

Safe servicing starts from $180 depending on make and model.

Safe repairs

If you start to experience problems with your safe, have it checked out immediately. Waiting until that day you get locked out can be a costly mistake. You will then be faced with a lock out issue, on top of your original repair problem. It can be a pricey call out fee on top of getting the safe open (often requiring drilling) even before the original repairs can be attempted.

Safe opening

If you find yourself locked out of your safe, whether you’ve forgotten your combination or your safe has malfunctioned, Amalgamated Locksmiths can professionally open and repair it. Depending on the type of safe and problem, we may be able to open your safe without reaching for the drill (which is a good thing).
